However, for the same price you can get the superior-sounding but not nearly as rugged Editors' Choice Bose SoundLink III, and for a bit more you can get the (also not rugged) Bowers & Wilkins T7.

The Logitech UE Megaboom offers strong frequency response across the board, with the exception of issues with very deep bass, and it's a solid performer among portable Bluetooth speakers. The horns and vocals in "Harvey Wallbanger" stand out against the appropriately voluminous bloopy bassline, and the deep muted bass of "This Gigantic Robot Kills" rumbles satisfyingly without overpowering MC Lars and MC Bat Commanders' vocals.

This comes through with ska, like Less Than Jake's "Harvey Wallbanger" and MC Lars' sci-fi-ballad-to-the-genre "This Gigantic Robot Kills" getting a good sense of texture and power across the full range of the songs. Songs that use actual instruments are better served by the Megaboom than thumpy club tracks. In testing, the upright bass in Miles Davis' "So What" sounded appropriately low and rumbly, and the piano notes were clear and slightly warm, leaving the real brightness to the track's horns. This weakness only comes through in songs that have extremely punishing ultra-low-end, like "Silent Shout." For slightly less sub-bass-heavy tracks, the Megaboom is more than capable of conveying fullness and warmth for deep instruments. For a name like Megaboom, it doesn't offer a very impressive sense of very, well, deep boom. The kick drum hits in particular were overly poppy, threatening to, but not quite distorting. Our bass test track, The Knife's "Silent Shout" sounded punchy but lacked deep, rumbly low-end reach. However, it doesn't offer much of an improvement in low-end performance, and struggles with intense sub-bass. PerformanceSince the Megaboom is much larger than the Boom, it can get notably louder.

Best Hosted Endpoint Protection and Security Software.I might do a clean reinstall of Windows just to be safe, but they were pleasant enough that I don't feel as suspicious as I was.mostly. Nonetheless, both programs have been successfully uninstalled without issue. They sounded genuine, but I still felt frustrated. They apologized for overstepping boundaries and explained it was something they did to try to benefit customers in emergency situations.

I gave the place a call right when I woke up to ask for the code to remove it. I'm sadly pretty dumb when it comes to technical matters.

Thank you all so much! I really appreciate the help. Is this normal? Am I totally overreacting? I don't mind keeping the program on my computer if this is some typical thing, but they hadn't done this the other few times I had used them, and everything I look up regarding SycnroMSP makes it seem more like it's used for business IT and not just some random home PC? Any opinions on this at all?Įdit: Oh wow! Woke up today to see a lot of responses. Something about it just feels weirdly invasive to me especially since I can't uninstall it without access to a code that they have on their end. I called them about this, and they told me it was their policy to put that on all their customers computers, and that it's main purpose was to log hardware information for them in the event they need to repair the computer again in the future. A little bit of research tells me that it's SyncroMSP and they also installed something called Spashtop Streamer onto my computer a well. Had some issues booting up, but they fixed it thankfully.īut now that I have it back, I notice that there is a new icon in my taskbar that is basically their company logo. Just got my computer back today from a repair shop I've used several times in the past. Hi there! Apologies if this is a really dumb and obvious question, but I just wanted some peace of mind.
